Hearst Magazines International launches Cosmopolitan in Singapore this September
Cosmopolitan, the world’s leading young women’s magazine, will launch an edition in Singapore with the September 2011 issue, on newsstands August 15, today announced Duncan Edwards, president & CEO of Hearst Magazines International (HMI). Cosmopolitan Singapore will be published in partnership with ACP Magazines.
The best-selling magazine in its category, Cosmopolitan has more than 60 international editions, in addition to its U.S. flagship, having most recently launched in Azerbaijan in June 2011. The magazine is published in 35 languages and distributed in over 100 countries, making it one of the most dynamic brands worldwide.
“The Cosmopolitan brand has been very successful around the world and we’re pleased to be partnering with ACP magazines to roll out an edition in Singapore,” said Edwards.
Cosmopolitan Singapore will appeal to young, stylish women interested in advice and features on relationships, fashion, beauty and entertainment. Deborah Tan has been named editor in chief and the magazine will have an initial circulation of 40,000, with a cover price of S$5.00.
“We have identified an audience of independent, opinionated women in Singapore that no other magazine is currently targeting,” said Tan. “These women work hard, play even harder, and love living life their way. We are confident that Cosmopolitan will resonate very well with them.”
The debut issue will be celebrated at a launch event for partners, advertisers and influencers from the worlds of entertainment and fashion, taking place on August 11 in Singapore.
