David Longshaw

David Longshaw joins Felicities

Felicities are thrilled to announce that we now represent David Longshaw and the collections are available in the showroom for press and buyer enquiries and appointments.

David Longshaw is firmly established as a British fashion favourite and he has been shortlisted for a wealth of awards, including being named as one of the ‘Designers To Watch 2011’ by vogue.com and one of ‘The Rising Stars of 2011’ by ELLE.  Hailed as “romantic, determined and with a fervid imagination” by Vogue Italia, the David Longshaw collections are stunning and unique with their blend of exquisite construction and intricate, vivid hand-drawn illustrations.

Beautifully feminine, playful yet chic, the collections combine elegance and youth in a range that includes luxurious garments, t-shirts, bags, scarves, jewellery and illustrations.

"I love David's ability to illustrate and design, and his lateral thinking on pattern and print. His designs have the potential for you to say, 'That's a David Longshaw dress'," Lorraine Candy, ELLE Editor-in-Chief.

With a natural talent for fashion and illustration, each season David Longshaw creates illustrations and whimsical stories which are the starting point and inspiration for the collections.  Maude is the fabric fashion mouse made originally by David Longshaw whilst at St Martin’s.  Made of the finest 100% cashmere, which was given to David by the Savile Row tailor Richard James, Maude has been described by British Vogue (September 2011) as ‘Longshaw’s long standing cult creation.’ Maude has become a Fashion icon in her own right.

David has also created ‘Francesca & Arthur’ a weekly comic strip for Vogue Italia and regularly contributes to a number of publications including vogue.com, the LFW newspaper and Fashion156.com

David Longshaw, St Martin’s BA (Hons), RCA (MA), graduated in 2007. He received a flurry of press attention and nominations for International Awards (ITS6, Trieste, Le Vif Weekend, Belgium, Cove Park, Scotland) and had secured a position at Alberta Ferretti before his final graduate collection was even shown. Although very keen to launch his own label, he went on to work at Max Mara to gain more internationally commercial experience. David is now concentrating on his own label which he launched during February LFW 2010, when he was selected for the ‘Ones To Watch’ catwalk show, Vauxhall Fashion Scout and to exhibit with the BFC.   David was the winner of the inaugural BFC/ELLE Talent Launch Pad. David Longhsaw’s collections are sold worldwide including Britain, USA, Japan, Dubai, Amsterdam, Hong Kong amongst others.
