2015 Scotland Re:Designed Awards winners announced

The recipients of the Scotland Re:Designed (SR:D) Awards have been announced as Cats Brothers (ladieswear), Ten30 (menswear) and Silken Favours (accessories). The accolades, supported by Creative Scotland are now in their second year after the launch last year, which saw Holly Fulton, Kestin Hare and William Chambers Millinery win in their respective categories. The three winners will receive invaluable mentoring sessions with Fashion Business Advisor David Watts, who, as well as running his own Fashion Consultancy, has previously mentored and advised Christopher Kane, J.W. Anderson & Jonathan Saunders. The winners will also receive a financial contribution to research the advice given. This year’s winners were chosen by a select panel that not only included Watts, but also Scotland Re:Designed founder Chris Hunt and freelance fashion designer April Crichton, whose 22 year career in fashion has seen her working as creative director for Sonia Rykiel as well as being instrumental in the launch of Sonia by Sonia Rykiel. The winners were announced at SR:D’s Summer School, a two day programme of educational workshops where the panellists also provided talks to eager designers. Scotland Re:Designed’s annual exhibition will be held in November this year and applications to exhibit will open nearer the time.
