Premium department store House of Fraser will be offering its customers a unique mobile shopping experience using Augmented Reality (AR) technology from Layar throughout this year’s Black Friday promotions. Black Friday windows will launch on November 25 in stores across the UK and Ireland and will feature instructions for customers to download the House of Fraser app to access the shoppable windows journey. A Scan to Explore feature on the House of Fraser IOS mobile app is triggered via scanning the window vinyl, which will allow customers to shop the best Black Friday deals in just a few clicks, avoiding the queues inside the store. A Scan to Win feature will also be available so that customers can be in entered into a competition to win a £250 House of Fraser gift card. To help guide customers and highlight the new technology Black Friday ‘angels’ will be on hand on November 27 in the top 14 stores across the UK and Ireland including Glasgow, Oxford Street, Manchester, Belfast and Dublin, demonstrating to customers just how easy it is to scan the vinyl and interact with the immersive content on the House of Fraser app. Black Friday is launching at 17:00 in store/online on November 25, with up to 50% off selected lines across fashion, beauty and home departments until midnight November 29. The app can be downloaded online.
