    International Woolmark Prize nominees announced

    The Woolmark Company announces the European Nominees for the 2014/15 International Woolmark Prize. For the first time, two designers will receive the overall award, one for menswear and one for womenswear. The European menswear nominees for the 2014/15 International Woolmark Prize are: Belgium – Cedric Jacquemyn, Czech Republic – Pavel Ivančic, Denmark – Asger Juel Larsen, France – Melinda Gloss, Germany – Vladimir Karaleev, Italy – CAMO, Netherlands – Hyun Yeu, Spain – ETXEBERRIA, Turkey – Serdar Uzuntas and United Kingdom – Agi & Sam (pictured). Nominees for womenswear include: Belgium – Jean-Paul Lespagnard, Czech Republic – ZDEŇKA IMRECZEOVÁ, Denmark – Anne Sofie Madsen, France – Etienne Deroeux (TBC), Germany – Augustin Teboul, Netherlands – Elsien Gringhuis, Spain – Rabaneda, Turkey – Nihan Peker and United Kingdom – 1205. Five regional awards will be held in Asia, Australia, Europe, India (and Middle East) and USA to select the ten finalists, each receiving AUD$50,000 financial contribution towards their next collection as well as an invitation to participate in the international final. The five menswear finalists will meet at London Collections: Men in January 2015 and the five womenswear finalists will meet in Beijing in March 2015. The winners of both the menswear and womenswear finals will receive a further AUD$100,000 to assist with fabric sourcing and marketing of their collection. In addition, both international winners will have their collection commercialised through key international retail partners including Harvey Nichols in the UK, Joyce in China, Saks 5th Avenue in the USA, Collette in France, 10 Corso Como in Italy, My Theresa online and David Jones in Australia. The European regional award will be held on July 8 in Paris, during the Haute Couture days, where the designers are required to present sketches of a Merino wool capsule collection comprising of six outfits, with one full outfit to be produced. The collections will be judged by a panel of experts soon to be announced.
