Period brand DAME has launched the world’s first re-usable tampon applicator, called D, into Waitrose stores nationwide. D aims to cut the single-use plastic waste created by the period product industry. DAME is a British brand who funded the launch of D via a crowdfunding campaign in 2018, which saw them exceed their target by 500%. DAME collaborated with medical engineers to design D. Each D is crafted from BPA free medical grade Mediprene, with inbuilt antimicrobial Sanipolymers that keeps D hygienic.  It is ergonomically designed for total comfort and fits seamlessly with all standard tampons, from light to super plus.

D has an RRP of £24.99 and comes with a storage tin, travel pouch and 6x DAME organic cotton tampons. Available from Waitrose stores, waitrose.com and  wearedame.co
