Jewellery brand Winterson has announced the winner of its 2017 Winterson Prize for the Best Use of Pearls. The exhibition showcases student jewellery designers at Central Saint Martins in London, giving them an opportunity to experience designing with pearls for their final year collections. Yanmi Lui was named this year’s winner of the prestigious pearl prize for her collection Modern Self-defence Armour & Weaponry, which drew inspiration from bio-mimicry design and an interest in martial arts.
