Clarks launches limited edition women’s brogues
Footwear brand Clarks has announced the launch of a capsule collection of women’s brogues, hand crafted in England. The collection brings a contemporary take on its most classic styles using the highest quality materials, including premium leathers. Available from July 2015, Clarks has created 90 pairs per line. The collection includes five colour ways across two styles. Each brogue will retail at £295. Inspired by Clarks archive, the time-honoured shoemaker’s art that involves over 160 separate steps and takes eight weeks to complete is once again at the heart of an exclusive capsule collection, designed and made in England. With an archive of over 22,000 styles, Clarks has been manufacturing Goodyear Welted shoes since the 1940s. With man-tailoring a current key trend, the Watlington and Saddle were selected as the two styles to re-invent. The Watlington is a twist on the classic brogue and the Saddle was a style that was worn by Queen Elizabeth during a tour of South Africa in 1967. Bancroft Clark had written about “the genius of the welt process” and this has been an essential detail in the new designs and craftsmanship. Styles include: Isabella Daisy (black & white); Isabella Carla (Purple combi leather, silver metallic leather, Grenadine leather); and Isabella Daisy (black leather). The Limited Edition Brogues will launch in July and will be available online only at clarks.co.uk.
