Creative Skillset has announced the establishment of the Anne Tyrrell Student Design award. The award, set up in the memory of Anne Tyrrell, fashion and interior designer, will support students studying on Creative Skillset ticked courses who are in the second year of their courses. In a career spanning more than 50 years in fashion and design, Anne’s influence as both a designer and educator was both exceptional and inspirational to all those she came into contact with. She mentored many luminaries of the fashion world including Eric Bremner of Max Mara. Anne was Co-Chair, of Creative Skillset’s Fashion Industry Panel and the driver behind expansion of the long established Creative Skillset Tick into fashion. The Tick is a mark of quality awarded by industry professionals to those courses that provide the best preparation for a career in the Creative Industries. The Creative Skillset tick was extended into a selected tranche of fashion courses in early 2014. Four more Institutions have now received the Tick accreditation, including the Arts University of Bournemouth, University of the West of England, University of Salford and Norwich University of the Arts. All the courses will be recognised at an event in London on December 1.
