Cubitts has announced the launch of the Artist in Residence campaign that will see the eyewear brand partner with a roster of artists, each creating exclusive designs for the cleaning cloths sold alongside Cubitts’ product range. Kick starting Cubitts’ Artist In Residence is London artist Hayden Kays; widely described as one of the most provocative artists of his generation and touted as the Young British Artist’s heir for the street art movement. Kays recently exhibited at the Saatchi Gallery during Frieze London, alongside celebrated artists including David Bailey, Damien Hirst and Yinka Shonibare MBE, and his work hangs alongside Banksy and Sir Peter Blake at The Groucho Club as part of their permanent collection. Kays is a contributing editor of the Arts & Culture pages of Hunger Magazine. Each cloth, available both in-store and online, will be priced at £5 with the entirety of proceeds going to each artist’s selected charities. Hayden has chosen to split all funds raised between Testicular Cancer UK and Cure Blindness: The Himalayan Cataract Project. The limited edition Cubitts x Hayden Kays cloths will be available from summer 2016.
