Ethical lifestyle store for Black women to launch a self-care Subscription box
The Spring, a holistic wellbeing platform and ethical lifestyle store for Black women, has announced the launch of a self-care subscription box. The e-tailer has partnered with predominantly Black-owned and women-led brands to elevate niche and ethically produced self-care products that are kind to both the body and the environment. Retailed
brands include Narola, Wild Seed Botanicals, Flora and Curl, Anita Grant and Jim + Henry, with the list of brand sign ups growing weekly. The price point is from £7 – £36. The visionary behind The Spring is wellness enthusiast and entrepreneur Marsha Nsiah who is on a mission to grow the brand into the go-to destination for Black women’s self-care. Marsha has amalgamated 12 years of her self-care education and personal spirituality and wellness journey into a space to help other Black women avoid the exhaustive product discovery and shopping experience which is commonly endured. Noticing a gap in the market for a retailer solely selling ethical products, produced in a sustainable way to Black women, the brand aims to disruptively pave the way as a discovery platform which brings convenience to shoppers and provides a hub and community for all things Black women’s self-care. Alongside hand-picked plant-based afro hair and skin products, the website features a “Wellness List”: a directory of hair & skin specialists, medical & spiritual practitioners, to give consumers access to not just self-care products but connections to experts in the wellness space too. On 1st September, The Spring will unveil its first bi-monthly ethical self-care subscription box, which will feature a selection of premium Black-owned brands such as The Glowcery, LIHA
Beauty, SuperFoodLx and Ivy Wild. The concept for the debut box is Rebirth-themed around renewal and rejuvenation coming out of lockdown. Each box is carefully curated to include specific products that uplift the mind, body and spiritual wellness. The subscription boxes encourage consumers to have an exciting and positive experience discovering up and coming Black-owned beauty brands whilst inspiring them to adopt habitual self-care wellness rituals. The subscription box will be retailed at £59.99 (worth £71 RRP).
