Fun Affair signs to Forward PR for London Fashion Week

London-based designer, Xi Zhu has appointed Forward PR to handle fashion label Fun Affair for London Fashion Week. The brand’s spring/summer 2017 collection Girls Grow Up will be presented at Fashion Scout September 20 (see events). Integrating abstraction exotica, minimalism and subversion, Fun Affair strives to create an avant-garde and elegant sphere of design. Xi Zhu merges her oriental heritage with European romanticism and modernism to define her signature: rebellion meets optimism She is on a quest to manifest extreme beauty – to define an oriental beauty with mystery, stillness and power, under the surrealistic and metaphysical concepts. Girls Grow Up is inspired by the New Romantics, ’80s power dressing and the postmodernism. The collection will feature oversized bow-knot shirting, high-gloss slip dresses, flounce dresses and high-waisted jeans. The season is all about playing with proportion, form and pre-conceived ideas. It’s about women’s strength and immanent rebelliousness. Fun Affair will be working with sunglasses label PERCY LAU this season to complete the SS17 Fun Affair runway looks. Xi Zhu achieved an MA in Womenswear from the London College of Fashion in 2013 and spent time at PORTS and Preen by Thornton Bregazzi before launching her own label.
