glo-therapeutics introduces polyethylene bead free formulas
Beauty brand glo-therapeutics has announced the launch of its polyethylene bead free formulas. Commonly used in facial cleansers and other skincare products, polyethylene beads used to exfoliate and cleanse eventually end up in our waterways posing an environmental threat to animals in both fresh and ocean water. glo has ended the use of microbeads from products such as Clear Acne Cleanser and Brightening Polish. New formulas without microbeads of Daily Polishing Cleanser and Refresh Facial Polish will be introduced next month. The Clear Acne Cleanser (£31.95) uses synthetic wax beads and the Brightening Polish (£37.95) now features a combination of jojoba beads and celluloscrub, modified cellulose extracted from wood pulp. The Daily Polishing Cleanser (£21) will also feature this combination and the Refresh Facial Polish (£19) uses diatomaceous earth which is a naturally-occurring fossilised algae that is biodegradable.
