International Woolmark Prize announces Europe regional judging panel

The International Woolmark Prize has announced its Europe regional final judging panel. Paris will this year play host to the Europe regional final on July 8 and the International Woolmark Prize welcomes an esteemed panel of judges to decide which two designers will go through to the global final for the menswear and womenswear categories. The Europe regional final judging panels include: Menswear Panel: James Sleaford – Fashion Editor, GQ France; Sarah Andelman – Creative Director, Colette; Tim Blanks – Editor-at-Large, Style.com; and Véronique Nichanian – Director of the masculine world of Hermès. The Womenswear Panel includes: Anita Barr – Fashion Buying Director, Harvey Nichols; Emmanuel Alt – Editor-in-Chief, Vogue Paris; and Peter Copping – Artistic Director for Nina Ricci. Fashion commentator Colin McDowell will return to act as mentor to the designers. The 2014/15 edition of the International Woolmark Prize sees the competition extended to include a menswear award, and so two finalists will be selected from each region – one for menswear and one for womenswear. The winners from each region will receive a $50,000 financial contribution towards their next collection as well as an invitation to participate in the international finals. The five menswear finalists will meet at London Collections: Men in January 2015 and the five womenswear finalists will meet in Beijing in March 2015. The five regional awards will be held in Tokyo (Asia), Sydney (Australia), Paris (Europe), Mumbai (India & the Middle East) and New York (USA).
