John Lewis launches Somerset lingerie and nightwear collection by British designer Alice Temperley 

 

October 1 sees the launch of debut Somerset lingerie and nightwear collection by British designer Alice Temperley exclusively for Debenhams. Fusing vintage and oriental influences, the 23-piece collection is inspired by Japanese prints and the iconic ‘Le Smoking’ tuxedo suit. The hero piece of the collection is a black sleeveless silk jumpsuit (£145) with ivory piping on the tuxedo-style lapels, reminiscent of 1930s film icon Marlene Dietrich in Morocco. Somerset lingerie comprises four balconette bra and classic knicker sets. The collection also includes short and long chemises (£75) in vintage inspired lace, and a short chemise in the exclusive ‘Night Floral’ print (£85). Somerset nightwear, which can double up as luxe loungewear, ranges from masculine tailored silk pyjama top and palazzo pant sets (£150) to vintage French boudoir-style camisoles with matching shorts, and an oriental-inspired belted kimono robe (£145) in the oriental ‘Night Floral’ print. A Somerset nightwear gifting line will be available ahead of Christmas, offering 100% silk eye masks (£15), silk camisole/knicker sets (£55), and a silk knicker/wash bag set (£35). Somerset lingerie arrives in stores nationwide and online on October 1 with prices starting from £15 to £250.
