Johnstons of Elgin collaborates with Lock & Co. Hatters
Combining over 550 years of brand heritage, joint Royal Warrant holders Lock & Co. Hatters and Johnstons of Elgin have announced a collaboration for autumn/winter 2016. Lock & Co. Hatters, founded in 1676, has drawn on its centuries of innovative design to mark its 340th anniversary with a four piece capsule collection of pure cashmere knitted beanies. Johnstons of Elgin, a like-minded family-owned brand with a strong focus on Scottish heritage, has been producing cashmere since 1797. Using cutting-edge techniques, the beanies have been knitted in the brand’s Hawick mill by craftspeople, some of whom have been honing their skills for almost 50 years. The Watchman Beanie, inspired by windswept fisherman on the Scottish coast with its deep roll-back cuff and short crown is knitted in two colours: a deep navy and a brown Donegal marl. The Ribbed Peak Beanie, available in russet and charcoal marl features a four-peak, cut and sew crown to give the wearer versatility on how it is styled. The beanies will be available from September 2016 in-store and online at Lock & Co. Hatters and Johnston’s of Elgin New Bond Street store.
