New philanthropic fashion brand Kivu has appointed Golden Goose PR to handle its PR activity. Founded by British couturier, Avis Charles, profits from Kivu are donated to Women for Women International and used to create opportunities for women in countries devastated by war and conflict. Kivu specialises in scarves and couture dresses whose designs are influenced by beads that women in Rwanda make. For every scarf made a piece of the fabric is sent back to women in Rwanda to be made into beads which can then be sold to raise money for their families. Through its work with Women for Women International, Kivu actively supports the economic growth and social, cultural and commercial advancement of women in developing countries. Prices range between £250 to £320, with large headscarves in 100 percent silk habotai priced from £190. Prices for made-to-order dresses range from £380 to £1,200.
