Luxury knitwear (cashmere) brand Makeda Matheson has appointed Life Lasting PR (LLPR) to handle its press and communications. Founded in 2014, Makeda Matheson creates versatile, luxurious knitwear, defined by ethically sourced, high quality materials and an ethos of simple but functional design. Created by film producer turned cashmere enthusiast, Makeda Matheson, the collection is the result of a rigorous two-year development process, blending the designer’s passion for luxury with an understanding of how clothes need to provide ease and support within everyday living. Subtle detail and fine finishing enhance classic, feminine cuts. Pieces include box cut, cropped jumpers in a warm palette of bold, classic colours such as burnt orange, raspberry, navy and black; contoured jumpsuits in soft cashmere; waist length funnel neck sweaters with green intarsia panels; and cropped crew neck sweaters with contrasting navy collar trims. Accessories include soft beanies and over-the-knee socks, the brand’s biggest seller. Prices range from £40 for a pair of socks and £125 for a cashmere t-shirt to £195 for the double rib jumper and £730 for the new long length cardigan and a luxurious jacquard knit double breasted jacket. All pieces are made in Mongolia from 100% ethically and sustainably sourced Mongolian cashmere. All garments are produced in a factory owned and run by its workers; wool is sourced from the cashmere goats of nearby farms. The factory runs on a zero waste policy, with every part of the fibre used for a myriad of purposes.
