Vogue celebrates the Best of British with 100 leading brands

Vogue celebrates the Best of British with 100 leading brands in its April issue. The magazine celebrates the biggest, brightest and finest 100 brands, from the most successful heritage labels to newer talents growing in international prominence, as well as the smaller but well-targeted enterprises. “To make Brexit work in any way for this country, one of the most important targets will be to get good trade deals for Britain. In recent years, fashion has been one of the industries that has set its sights on the bigger, international picture, and it is now a truly global business that should not have to shift into reverse and become focused on only the home market. It has long been thought that fashion can only benefit from the rich mix that different nationalities bring to the table. But that is not to diminish the great fashion stories that this country has to offer, both well-known and under the popular radar”, commented Alexandra Shulman, Editor-in-Chief of British Vogue. Collected into 17 categories as identified by Vogue, The 100 includes HOMESPUN: &Daughter, Barbour, Belstaff, Church’s, Mackintosh, Sunspl and TooGood; and CRAFT CHAMPIONS: Alexander McQueen, Wales Bonner, Simone Rocha, Hillier Bartley and Faustine Steinmetz. Other sections in Vogue’s rundown of the Best of British brands are: The Superbrand; The New Establishment; High-Street Heroes; Shoes; Department Stores; Couture; Jewellery; Working-Wardrobe Gems; The Newcomers; By Invitation Only; The Colourists; Digital Dynamos; The Staples; The Agitators; and The Revivalists. The April issue of British Vogue is on sale March 10.
