    Shortlist for WGSN Global Fashion Awards announced
     
    Raf Simons (Dior), Phillip Lim, Erdem Moralioğlu (Erdem), Guillaume Henry (Carven) and Isabel Marant have all been shortlisted for the WGSN Global Fashion Awards, Catrice Womenswear Designer Award, which was won last year by Victoria Beckham. Meanwhile Beckham is once again nominated but this year in the iSKO Denim Design Team category as Victoria Beckham Denim competes with G-Star Raw, A G Jeans, Hudson and MiH. The shortlist of nominees for a total of 20 fashion design and retail categories was revealed at a summer drinks party at the St Martin’s Lane Hotel by music artist Kate Nash, and WGSN Awards Director, Lauretta Roberts. Oliver Spencer, Dries Van Noten, Christophe Lemaire and Meadham Kirchhoff are nominated for the Menswear Designer Award, won by Kim Jones of Louis Vuitton in 2012, whilst the winner of Footwear & Accessories Designer, last year won by Charlotte Olympia, will be either one of Sophie Hulme, Edgardo Osorio of Aquazurra, Nicholas Kirkwood or Christian Louboutin. Up-and-coming Gandys goes head to head with Clarks, Melissa and Absolute Black in the Preciosa Footwear & Accessories Design Team category which was last year won by global success story; The Cambridge Satchel Company. Outlets including Topshop, John Lewis, Saks Fifth Avenue, Monki, Evoluzione, Dafiti, Karl Lagerfeld and PUMA are amongst the nominees in the four store design categories. While sister companies Net-a-Porter and MRPORTER.com will fight it out for the best buying team prize along with Russia’s PODIUM MARKET and Opening Ceremony. Other award winners, to be announced at the fourth annual WGSN Global Fashion Awards to be held at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum on Monday 30 October, will be for the prestigious Hall of Fame, LYCRA Future Designers Award and the Empiria Woman Award for a humanitarian style icon.
